I Realized I Have Something To Say.....

Nov 20, 2022

So, turns out I have a couple of things to say! I have often thought of starting a blog but wasn’t sure I had anything to say. Or if I did, would anyone care to read it? After talking with a friend the other day, she declared I probably had at least three blog posts just in our conversation alone!

So yeah, I have a thing or two to say about a thing or two!

Mostly, I want this to be a space where I share health and wellness information so you can be empowered to live your life to the fullest and feel good doing it.

There are many aspects that affect our health in a positive or negative way.  I shy away from calling myself a Nutrition Coach as the food aspect is simply one piece of a larger puzzle. It’s not only what we eat, but when we eat. It’s the quality of our sleep and circadian rhythm. It’s the tools we use to manage stress emotionally as well as physically and cope with the toxic burdens of modern life. It’s how we move our bodies in a way that clears out excess sugar, creates cardiovascular as well as metabolic health, tones our muscles and reduces inflammation so we look and feel our best. It’s about getting back to basics, weeding through the misinformation and realizing that true wellness is, most of the time, quite simple. However, not always easy.

And that is where I can help. I will share information that may not reach mainstream media outlets, as often it takes a little digging to get to the truth of the matter. I will do my best to quell anxiety, inspire positive action and to never fear monger.

I am sure we have all seen the headline or email heading, the one daily habit that is killing you”… or if you dont take this supplement you will be x, y, or z”. I just cant go there!

Sure, there are things you can do to increase wellness or increase dis-ease in your body. I will always do my best to come at it from a place of education, sharing of knowledge from experience and with a heavy dose of empowerment. You are in control of most things that create your optimal health. It is not the doctors. It is not the pharmaceutical and supplement companies. It is not the food industry. It’s YOU!

If any of this resonates with you, here are a few tips to get you going in the right direction:

  • Eat real food.

  • Don’t read nutrition labels, read ingredient lists. If sugar or any of it’s relatives are on that list, you probably shouldn’t eat it on a regular basis. Or at all. Common hiding places: pasta sauce, salad dressing and nut butters.

  • Try to space meals and avoid snacking. Let yourself feel hungry. Some of my clients have admitted they haven’t felt that sensation in years! It’s an important piece for healthy digestions and metabolism.

  • Focus on getting good sleep! I know it’s tempting to stay up late and binge the latest show. Do yourself a favor and keep that to a minimum. Grab a book, make some tea, get into bed at a decent hour and let your body rest.

  • Aim to create a body, mind, and spirit that are resilient in the face of any challenge.

I look forward to using this space to serve you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with specific questions.

As one of my favorite authors Jen Pastiloff says, “I’ve got you”.

Be Well.
